Privacy Policy

What we collect

• —We don't store your prompt content. Local AI prompts are processed on your Mac after the model is downloaded; BYOK prompts are sent directly from the app to the provider you choose.
• —We don't store your clipboard content. Clipboard history, prompt history, image OCR, and local AI processing stay on your Mac unless you explicitly send selected content to a BYOK provider.
• —CopyFix does not proxy BYOK AI requests through our servers, so we do not receive or log those prompts or clipboard payloads.
• —Our backend stores payment and license records needed for Pro: Pro status, purchase timestamps, PayPal order/capture identifiers, redeem-code state, and money-transaction audit records.
• —Backend request logging stores metadata such as caller IP, endpoint, status, duration, user agent, and request counts. It does not store request body content.

How data is processed

• —Local AI requests are processed on-device after model download. When you use BYOK, CopyFix sends the request directly to the AI provider you selected in the app.
• —If you enable clipboard context, the selected clipboard content is sent with your prompt.
• —Third-party providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google may store or log BYOK requests under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.

Local storage on your Mac

• —Clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac.
• —Prompt history used for autocomplete suggestions is stored locally on your Mac.
• —Custom API keys are stored in your macOS Keychain.
• —Downloaded local models are stored in the local model cache and can be deleted from CopyFix settings.

Permissions

• —Accessibility permission is used only for user-initiated automation actions — for example, inserting text into other apps.
• —Clipboard access is used only to power clipboard-related app features.

Third-party services

Depending on your chosen provider and features, CopyFix may interact with, including but not limited to:

• —OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible API providers you configure
• —Anthropic (Claude)
• —Google Gemini
• —PayPal for one-time Pro payments

Your choices

• —You decide which AI provider CopyFix talks to and which clipboard items or selections are used as input.
• —You can choose local AI and avoid sending prompts to any provider, or skip AI entirely and still use clipboard history locally.
• —You can clear local clipboard history and related app data from within CopyFix at any time.
• —You can delete downloaded local models and stored provider keys from CopyFix settings.
